In her honor

The Sharon Chuter Foundation was established to carry forward the legacy of the late Sharon Chuter — a woman whose life was devoted to dignity, equity, and the unshakeable belief that every African deserves the chance to build the future they imagine.

Though she is no longer with us, her conviction lives on in every scholarship awarded, every skill taught, and every small business we help bring to life. Her work is not finished — and neither is ours.

"When we invest in an African mind, we don't just change a life — we shift the trajectory of a community, a country, a generation."

— Sharon Chuter

More about Sharon

Listed by WWD as one of the most powerful women in business, Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based Sharon Chuter (Sharon C) was a visionary, change agent, and rebel with a cause.

As a seasoned beauty industry executive, Sharon's career spanned multiple continents and multinational brands including Revlon, L'Oréal, PepsiCo, GSK, and Benefit Cosmetics. She disrupted the beauty industry and made history with the 2019 launch of her Afro-inspired, inclusive beauty brand UOMA Beauty, which debuted at ULTA Beauty and Selfridges.

A vocal advocate for equality and equity for Black communities, Sharon drew from personal experience to inspire change. In June 2020, she stood up and challenged corporations around the world — a bold rally that reverberated globally and birthed Pull Up For Change and the start of a Corporate Revolution.
